Currency Creek

Currency Creek is situated 80kms south of Adelaide about a 1.5 hour drive by car nestled close to the mouth of The Mighty Murray River.
This wine region was established in the late 1960’s and some of the original vines are still producing today.
Located close to the sea, extremes of weather are avoided giving rise to some spectacular styles such as Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz.
Currency Creek Wine Region includes the Murray River Port of Goolwa close to the up and coming Hindmarsh Island and Marina.
The hamlets of Milang, Middleton and Finnis all form opportunities to explore The Coorong wetlands that have been home to The Ngarrindjeri people for some 6,000 years.
Not only is The Coorong an important bird and wildlife haven but is also of cultural and scientific importance; indeed even today Ngarrindjeri people are involved in cultural heritage management and also Coorong National Park management.
