Gold Panning in Barossa ValleyDid you know that Gold was first discovered in the Barossa in 1868!

You can re-enact finding gold in ‘them there hills’ by coming along to Annual Re-Enactment Day organised by The Barossa Goldfields Historical Society (A Member of Friends of The Park Inc)

The event is held on Fourth Sunday in September 9.30am until 4.30pm

23rd September 2012

and will include:-

Gold Panning, Mining Displays, Local History & Descendants, Restored Settlers Cottage, Old Jail Cell, Guided Walks, Blacksmithing, Old Working Engines, Cross Cut Sawing, Wilfley Ore Sorting Table, Endless Billy Tea & Damper, Bring a Picnic, Family Fun!

Find us as Bowden’s Cottage, about 15kms from Gawler. Located 4kms up Goldfield Road.
Turn off Williamstown Road onto Balmoral Road, then take the next left onto Goldfields Road.

Tuesday 9 am – 12 noon (subject to member’s availability)

Alternatively you can enjoy Goldfields Historical walks on Goldfields Road which is either a short walk of 45 minutes, or a long walk of 3 hours.  Group tours can be arranged
